Chequered! / New Revelation
Rocknrollwerewolf on YouTube breaks it down: “In 1971, infamous Hendrix producer Ed Chaplin hustled “The King of The Twist” Chubby Checker into recording an album of psychedelic soul for his PPX Productions. The album got various releases under different low-budget imprints; in Britain the album was called “Chequered” and was released on London Records, another version was released in Belgium called “Slow Twistin’” on MFP Reocords, and YET another version on 51 West Records was called “New Revelation”. Not too many people heard this album. In fact, the release was so limited that this album is now almost impossible to find on vinyl. Fortunately, the album was recently released for the first time on CD by French record label Underground Masters. In any case, I think it is Chubby Checker’s best work.”
“If the sun stops shinin’, there’ll be no life for me. If the sun stops shinin’, there’ll be no love for me. There will be no night, there’ll be no day. There’ll be no hearts to share, and there’ll be no heart for love. There’ll be no love no where. If there sun stops shinin’, there’ll be no love for you. If the rain stops fallin’, there’ll be no flowers too. If the sun should fall on us again… If the rain should come on us again… If the flood will rise on our heads again…. Please let yourself be lonely, love your man, love him only. Love your light, love everything. Make peace in the world.
If the sun stops shinin’, there’ll be no happiness. If the sun stops shinin’, there’ll be no birdies nest. If the horses stop runnin’, there’ll be no grasses tall. If you take all your love, there’ll be no me at all. If the sun should fall on us again! If the rain should come on our heads again! If the floods will rise on us again!” Lyrics from “If the Sun Stops Shinin’…”
“Some people believe that if make a wish when you are gifted with a friendship bracelet, it comes true if you wear the friendship bracelet until it falls off naturally.” Ehow.com, on the meaning of friendship bracelets
The adapter for my bike tire went missing. The screw holding up my license plate popped out. My friendship bracelet from Sharon fell off.

It’s alright. Things fall apart. And things come together.
