The best Chicago food blogger, Smokin’ Chokin’ and Chowin’ with the King, got Etta and I interested in taking a trip to the Northwoods, Wisconsin. He is the guru for Midwestern food paths. We branched out from his trip in terms of where we stayed and ate, but also had to take some of his recommendations.
Gooch’s A-One was one of them, and I’m glad we stopped. We got a bucket of broasted chicken, fried perfectly, juicy. It was energy food on the drive up to the Porkies and Lake Superior. The potato salad was good, too. Check out Smokin’ Chokin’s full Northwoods blog post.
