Rainy day in June, I should not have been driving with the combination of low blood sugar and high blood pressure. I pulled off halsted and found Andorka’s mere presence in the neighborhood had a calming effect.
Stepping in from the warm drizzle, I first noticed the old bones of the building, the old school display coolers, and then the plate of just-baked chocolate chip cookies on the counter. I ordered 3 cookies, egg salad and the italian sausage, which I got on their house-baked wheat bread.
First impression is that Andorka’s is a lowkey gem and I can’t wait to eat more of everything I had and everything else on the menu – will be back soon!
