Drop the Ball Already & Call It a Bingo

Yo thats the end of 2005 officially! For 3rdarm.biz incomparable coverage of the preceding annual, click on the Archives. In the last twenty four hours of this battleyear climatica we are going from the blizzard of a new bizamp session shoutcasted live, to coffee and toilet paper. I will be hosting the festivities at the East Coast Grill on the eve of the millenium + 6. Actually, I don’t know digits that well and it may very well be that this is millenium + 7 or however, because the beginning of time was actually in the year 2 or something, if I remember my millenium studies correctly. Call it millenium + biz cause thats what it is for everyone. In terms of time I will share with you how the 3rdarm.biz records it.

Yes I do now have my $4.99 Walgreens wristwatch to record standard time, but in addition I am an inhabitant of North America and we North Americans have ancestoral history that informs ourselves how to relate to the tricky time dimension. In the civilizations of the center of our land mass that thrived before Columbus and the Europeans there were at least two relevant calendars. One was based on the Earth’s orbit and therefore reflected the cyclical nature of how we experience going around the sun on our big orb. The other calendar was called the Long Shot and was a linear system for remembering where we all started. 3rdarm.biz started in 2005 in the month Apes, just as humans started out with much, much more body hair.

We are evolved now (matter of fact, I can barely grow facial hair.) But to get to the next step in evolution (super-ape) where 3rdarm.biz pulls down more than 500 unique visitors a day (and I quit my real job) is still a Long Shot. Or rather a point we’re approaching on the Long Shot by going around the flaming orb. We’ll get there. Everyone be safe!
