As much as we love Marcia cooking us hot homemade meals when she visits, we also love to take her out and fatten her up on the rich Chicago dining scene!
Monday night, we had a delicious dinner at the Radler, a Logan Square restaurant that modernizes German classics with local, seasonal ingredients.
Meghan (her boyfriend Rob, was working early in the morning) came to meet us, and we had terrific service from the team managed by Meghan’s sister Liz. She had a golden glistening buttery hot pretzel waiting on the table for us!
Marcia loved the onion pie, so rich and buttery, and the pretzel, but her real passion was the sea trout.
The pork schnitzel was crispy and rich, the finger tube pasta and the late fall vegetables really pleasing…
It was come as a surprise to no one that my favorites were (and always are) the sausage and the sweets.
