Getting to the top of your first climb is exciting and it’s wonderful and just the joy of motion. It doesn’t have to be difficult but just figuring out how to move up a wall efficiently is a joy. I find climbing very clarifying.
You’re not really thinking that much about everything going on in your life. Especially as you are kind of pushing your limits, you’re working on the movement and you may be thinking about gear, or making the next clip, but your certainly not thinking about your homework or your job or anything else. I find that to be really refreshing.
You’re forced to almost enter into like a zone of calm and peace. It’s something you can do without having a lot of ego about doing a hard route. There’s all kinds of climbers. There’s not one personality, or one gender, or one body type.
