Weeks ago, I read about derechos for the first time. I soon found myself living through a series of these severe weather events. Derechos are basically a line of thunderstorms capable of devastating horizontal winds and even tornadoes. According to DT, they are common in the Midwest.
Roly Poly (#ROLO) and I watched the line of storms rip through the city. It was as if Michael Bay’s transformers were destroying Chicago for the third time. I took some video of the large tree on our street, illuminated by constant lightning strikes, its many arms waving wildly in sheets of howling rain. Etta made a strawberry bread pudding with hand-whipped cream.
