Dinner for the Family without a Furnace — November 4, 2021

ULC Logbook, Thursday, November 4th, 2021:

We started with approx. 49 covers, and were joined by a handful of walk-in’s, including 4 gentlemen actors from Yale (party of 4, tbl. 26), one of whom also joined us last night. We finished with 58 covers.

We had 4 orders for takeout, including one very large order (including 6 entrees+), which G. personally managed for the guest, as she had not completed the order online. This guest thanked G. and the whole team profusely: today the furnace in her house had stopped working, and she was stressed by the cold while waiting for the repairs, and was very appreciative that G. and Chef G. saved the day for her family to have an excellent dinner: bravo!

For BA’s, we were joined by Maryellen H. (party of 2, tbl. 1); Daphne E. and Kholoud E. (party of 2, tbl. 31).

We had at least 2 guests join us for only-drinks at the bar; we had 3 guests (party of 2, party of 1) join us for just-desserts.

The couple who joined for just-desserts said they were, “So happy they had dropped in,” and that their desserts were, “a work of art.” Chef T. put these folks on cloud nine!

Blue skies and warmer in the afternoon: the temperature started dropping when the sun went down, making for a chillier back half of the evening.
