Not That Brick Out Bro, But Still — December 4 – 5, 2021

ULC Logbook, Sunday Brunch, December 5th, 2021:

We started with 57 covers when I arrived; one large party made a same-day reservation this morning; through 1PM we were joined by several parties of walk-in guests: we finished with 75 covers.

We had two orders for takeout, both placed over the phone, both for pick-up at the end of service.

For BA’s, we were joined by: Gary H. (solo, tbl. 8); Diane A. (party of 2, tbl. 1); Adil C. (solo at the bar): Berri N. had a takeout order.

A gentleman visiting New Haven from Austin, Texas, who had joined us earlier this week for dinner, returned for brunch and greatly enjoyed the experience.

Christy T. (party of 5, tbl. 3) are semi-regulars from Massachusetts who joined us today for a, “ladies brunch.” The T.’s commented that, “everything was amazing,” and that they will be joining us again in late January 2022.

Mrs. A. commented on S.’s gracious hospitality; Graceann P. (party of 2, tbl. 23) complimented N.’s service: bravo S. and N.!

We had only a couple minor unforced errors: for example, N. walked away from the POS before completely entering an order (saved by G.); N. had to correct his prep sequence for one order; G. initially quoted the incorrect time for takeout to be ready for pick-up; Arthur had to call a guest back to double check the CC number for a Christmas Eve reservation; other small slip-up’s due to fatigue / lack of attention. Fortunately, all were able to be worked out during service without having an adverse effect on our guests’ experiences.

Weather was not that brick out bro, but still.
