Fireplace Photoshoot as Social Contagion — November 17 – 18, 2021

ULC Logbook, Wednesday, November 17th, 2021:

We started with approx. 64 covers, and finished near that mark, with 63 covers. We had two orders for takeout; BA Berri N., order for 1; and Mrs. S., order for 2. The largest party, under the name A. M. G., joined us from Saybrook College (party of 7, tbl. 30); the Stryker medical group joined us in the Sherman Room: that was all for BA’s.

Chef accommodated a vegetarian tasting menu for the Neeti J. reservation (party of 2, tbl. 1, served by S.) who reported LOVING not just the cuisine and hospitality, but the entire experience. Bravo Chef and S.!

Tonight we had 4 parties of 2 join us for tasting menus: all 4 parties booked their reservation using the new “Chef’s Tasting Menu” option on OpenTable.

Crisp coat weather: mostly sunny.

ULC Logbook, Thursday, November 18th, 2021:

We started with 109 covers. The lesser number than typical of walk-in guests were not able to compensate for the several reservations who cancelled. We finished with 102 covers.

For BA’s, we were joined by: E. K. (at the bar, party of 2); Benedict C. (solo, at the bar); Bruce G. (party of 4, tbl. 14); Bob F. (party of 2, tbl. 27); Bryan A., friend of D. (party of 5, tbl. 26); Christi K., with Danny L. of WEBE108 (party of 4, tbl. 3); Bob F. (party of 4, tbl. 15).

We had 2 orders for takeout: 1 from the web, 1 for BA Berri N..

Jakob P. (party of 3, tbl. 10) joined us for desserts only, and sends big compliments to the entire pastry team!

Heather R. (party of 3, tbl. 10) sends their regards to JM: the last time they saw JM was in the championship-winning game of petanque! The R.’s thanked the entire team and send their compliments to the Chef.

At the end of the night, 3 successive couples, and 1 trio of gentlemen, posed for photos in front of the fireplace (and I got to be the photographer!)

Weather was clear and unseasonably warm. The wind picked up at the very end of the night, creating the impression that it was raining leaves on Chapel Street.
