ULC Logbook, Wednesday, March 16th, 2022:
We started with 61 covers: unfortunately, due to family health reasons in both cases, we had a party of 4, and a party of 2, cancel at the start of service. On the early side, a walk-in party of 2 guests from YNHH and a solo diner joined; BA Adil joined midway; two additional solo walk-in guests joined on the later side. We finished with 60 covers.
We had a single order of takeout for BA Mr. B., ordered on the web.
For BA’s, we were joined by: David L. / Paul G. (party of 2, tbl. 4); former colleagues of Master T, Sarah K. (party of 3, tbl. 16); Joan K. (party of 4, tbl. 3); Adil C. (solo at bar): Yale German Dept. / Kirk W. (party of 5, tbl. 30).
I shared some of the Robert Thompson stories I have collected on my history blog with the former colleagues of Master T — the Sarah K. group (table 16, party of 3, taken care of by D.). The guests thoroughly enjoyed their dinner as a celebration in honor of Master T— hopefully I contributed something to make their experience even more special: by demonstrating that as much as Master T loved ULC, ULC loved Master T back!
A. trained in the busser position.
T. passed his server test and took his first two tables on the floor: bravo T.!
Two guests enjoyed Chef’s tasting menu: they had reserved for the experience themselves on OT.
Forecast for Thursday: high of 55F with rain likely throughout (at least the plants will be happy!)
