ULC Logbook, Tuesday, April 5th, 2022:
We started with 121 covers. We were joined by walk-in parties of 2 at 6PM, 6:15PM, 7PM, and 7:50PM, and a walk-in party of 3 joined us at 7:45PM. Only one reservation, for 5 guests, who had never confirmed, did not show. We finished with 130 guests (this total includes the 18 guests from the Sherman Room).
We did not have any takeout orders.
For BA’s, we were joined by; Jim C., with the L.’s, and probably additional BA’s (party of 8, tbl. 33+); Jane D., celebrating her husband’s 93rd birthday (party of 6, tbl. 30); Yale Nursing School Dean A. K. (party of 2, tbl. 14); F. C. of Yale humanities dept. (party of 5, tbl. 5).
For events, we were joined by the Council on East Asian Studies at Yale (18 guests, Sherman Room.)
Mary A. (party of 2, tbl. 23, served by R. I.) had noted in their reservation that they were joining us for Restaurant Week, and celebrating an anniversary. When I checked in after their dinner, the A.’s let me know they had LOVED their dining experience with us, but apparently love each other even more, as they asked me to guess the number of years they’d been together, and it was their FIFTIETH anniversary! Bravo R. I., Chef and team!
For Chef’s tasting menu, we had 7 guests reserve for this experience, and 5 guests received the Chef’s tasting menu experience (one party of 2 ordered the RW menu instead).
Partly sunny with chance for showers continues: please remember April showers WILL bring May flowers.
BA P. S.-A. (who dined with table 5) told me, and I believe him, that the beautiful budding trees across the street in Vanderbilt Court are not cherry blossoms: they are magnolia blossoms!
