A High Energy Day in the Chapel Street Historic District — April 29, 2022

ULC Logbook, Friday, April 29th, 2022:

We started with 78 covers: it was a high energy day in the Chapel Street Historic District. We were joined by the following walk-in guests: party of 2 at 6PM; party of 4 at 7:20PM. There were many same-day reservations made for BA’s. One party of 4 cancelled; we charged the cancellation fee and issued a gift card in the same amount for when the party is next able to join us. We finished with 99 guests.

We had four orders for takeout: three on the web and one on the phone. Included were BA Mr. B., and BA Connor L.

For BA’s, we were joined by: Dave L. for a special lunch (party of 12, Clubroom, served by N.); R., G.’s and R.’s chiropractor (party of 2, tbl. 4); K. K., Yale Middle Eastern studies (party of 4, tbl. 3); David D. (party of 4, tbl. 17); Martha S. (party of 7, tbl. 30); Stephen P., New Haven real estate (party of 4, tbl. 16); E. P. and son, of YNHH (party of 2, tbl. 15); Marc M. (party of 5, tbl. 31); The K.’s (party of 2, at the bar); The B.’s (party of 2, at the bar); Yale Psychology Dept. (party of 5, tbl. 29); Michael P., of YNHH with friends visiting from UK (party of 3, tbl. 26); Jean P. H. (party of 3, tbl. 12).

In the Ballroom, we were joined by 35 guest from Yale Urology, hosted by Dr. S.

Two walk-in guests who had joined us from 5PM to 6:15PM for cocktails-only were (according to M.) “infatuated with T.” M. overheard them say to T., “You make the best gimlet.” The gentleman of the couple, on his way past the front desk as they were leaving, commented to R.: “Protect your bartender; he’s very talented.”

Mostly sunny for the weekend, warming up to a high of 65F (should feel like 80F after this week!) by Sunday.
