ULC Logbook, Friday, June 10th, 2022:
We started with 78 covers (a split of 34 inside / 44 outside). There were a total of 18 guests who changed plans / cancelled. We were joined by several same-day reservations and the following walk-in parties: 2 at 5:20PM; 2 at 5:45PM (patio); 1 at 5:50PM (bar); 2 at 5:50PM (patio); 1 at 7:35 (bar); 3 at 8:35PM (bar). We finished with 96 guests (a split of 49 inside, 47 outside).
There were 3 orders for takeout: BA Mr. B. order by web; BA Berri N. and a guest named Connor ordered by phone.
For BA’s, we were joined by: Sherwin A. (party of 2, at the bar); Supreme Knight P. K. (party of 6, tbl. 5); The G.’s (party of 2, tbl. 63); Mr. John K. (solo at bar); Yale historian M. P. (party of 2, tbl. 64); Manuel G. (party of 4, tbl. 26); Dr. C.s G. (party of 2, tbl. 61); Marc W. (party of 6, tbl. 17).
Mr. and Mrs. K. gave me an amazing gift — a full-size print of a photograph featuring Mrs. K. and members of the rock band Duran Duran, taken in October 2007, when Duran Duran dined in the Clubroom (cue: “Hungry like the Wolf.”) I Soon I will reciprocate with a gift for the K.’s: right now, I am feeling thankful that we have some of the most thoughtful, generous guests of any restaurant in the world. Thank you to the K.’s!

We started with 110 covers (82 inside; 28 outside). A total of 23 covers cancelled today. We more than equalized for the cancelled parties with same-day reservations. We were joined by the following walk-in parties: 10 at 5:30PM; 2 at 5:40PM (bar); 2 at 5:55PM (bar); 1 at 6PM. We finished with 127 guests (106 inside; 21 outside).
We had three orders for takeout, all placed by web: BA Mr. B., Rasha H., and Claire L. (single piece of Feuillentine).
For BA’s, we were joined by: David P. (party of 2, tbl. 1); Dr. S. G. (party of 2, tbl. 4); Z. W., celebrating graduation from Hopkins (party of 6, tbl. 5); Attorney Patrick K. (party of 2, tbl. 10); William M. (party of 2, tbl. 6); Pamela L., table artist (party of 4, tbl. 22); Marvin C. (party of 2, tbl. 75); The G.’s, married at ULC in 2019 (party of 2, tbl. 2); Chef G.’s wife E., and parents visiting from France (party of 3, tbl. 3); Ryan S., friend of James T. (party of 2, tbl. 8).
In addition to MANY additional positive comments, a solo walk-in guest (table 23, served by N.) said: “That salmon was just the best.” Bravo Chef, N., team and salmon!
