ULC Logbook, Thursday, May 5th, 2022:
We started with approx. 90 covers. We were joined by several same-day reservations, and multiple parties stopped in to enjoy a drink at the bar, or in one case, table 27, on this beautiful weather day. We were joined by walk-in parties of two for dinner at 5:50PM, and 6:40PM. G. and B. joined us for dinner at the bar. We finished with 102 covers (the total includes the 15 guests who joined us in the Sherman Room.)
For BA’s, we were joined by: Barbara C., second night of three in a row (party of 2, tbl. 6); Yale Econ. / Saybrook College (party of 17, tbl. 31+); Mercedes C. (solo, tbl. 26); Judith N. (party of 2, tbl. 4); Jan C., on her birthday, with H.(party of 2, tbl. 2); M. P., of YNHH (party of 4, tbl. 30); B. G., part 1, with students (party of 9, tbl. 5); B. G., part deux, with colleagues (party of 4, tbl. 16); Yale’s Elizabethan Club (party of 7, tbl. 17); G. and B. (two at bar); Michael B. (party of 2, tbl. 29); Martin J. (party of 2, tbl. 9); Phoebe S. (party of 10, tbl. 18+); Chris R. (party of 7, tbl. 3); Kholoud E. and her daughter (party of 2, tbl. 31).
In the Sherman Room, we had 15 guests from Yale’s Immunobiology Dept. for the Janeway Memorial Dinner.
A party of two walk-in guests (party of 2, tbl. 14, served by P. G.) who came in with perhaps a 5 out of 10 on the mood scale. They were mostly unhappy with me because all of the window tables they wanted had been requested for reservations. However, these two ladies had a complete mood reversal and were more like a 9 out of 10 after they’d finished dinner and were on their way out. As they were walking past the front desk, one of the guests commented: “We had the BEST waiter in the house… P. G.” Bravo P., Chef and team!
Friday: 62F, rain. Saturday: 52F, rain. Sunday: 55F, cloudy (but no rain!)
