ULC Logbook, Tuesday, August 16th, 2022:
We started with 53 covers (24 inside, 29 outside). One party of 4 cancelled due to a family emergency. We were joined by the following walk-in parties: 2 at 5:30PM; 3 at 5:30PM; 2 at 6:10PM; 2 at 6:40PM; solo diner at 7:10PM; 2 at 7:45PM; solo diner at 8:45PM. We finished with 73 guests (46 inside, 27 outside).
For BA’s, we were joined by: Florie S. (party of 4, tbl. 77); John H. (party of 5, tbl. 3); Sarah S. (party of 2, tbl. 16); State Senator M. L. (party of 4, tbl. 62); Jennifer J.-M. (party of 7, tbl. 75+); former ULC staff, N. [server / host] and R. [bartender with J.] (party of 2, tbl. 22); Shepard S. (party of 2, tbl. 78); Divya K. (party of 5, tbl. 5); Brian L. (party of 4, tbl. 17) with R.’s former landlady who refers to R. only as, “My dear” — free advice: don’t try it!
Sarah S. and her husband (party of 2, tbl. 16, served by R.) celebrated their 12th anniversary with us tonight. Back in the day, before getting married, the S. had their first ever date in the ULC Clubroom (which they had noted on their reservation). Having shared their first date story was the perfect icebreaker which allowed me to speak with the S. about the restaurant’s history (which they are a part of!) After dinner, the S. commented they’d had a fantastic anniversary dinner, and being fans of historic architecture, they had already checked out my history website from the table, and are excited to read more when they get home. Bravo to R., Chef G., Chef T., architects, builders, wood polishers, and the whole team!
