Historic New England — September 29, 2022

ULC Logbook, Thursday, September 29th, 2022:

We started with 86 covers (78 inside, 8 outside — the total does not include guests from the Ballroom party). Two parties cancelled, for a total loss of 6 covers. On what N. described as a, “Yale lectures Thursday,” with many large parties, we were joined by a solo walk-in guest at 6:50PM; and a solo walk-in guest at 8:30PM. We finished with 93 guests (84 inside, 9 outside — the total does not include guests from the Ballroom party.

There was one takeout order, for Yale’s honorable Professor M. B., placed by phone.

For BA’s, we were joined by: Sara H. (party of 3, tbl. 22); the P.’s (party of 3, tbl. 17); YSOM Professor J. T. (party of 3, tbl. 11); Yale School of Medicine’s Dr. G. S. (party of 6, tbl. 16); Fola A. (party of 9, tbl. 5); Pablo L. (party of 5, tbl. 77): Dr. L. and B. G. (party of 2, tbl. 63).

In the Clubroom, we were joined by 13 guests from Yale’s Faith and Culture Center, for a RALC menu, hosted by R. M.-L.

In the Ballroom, we were joined by 30 guests from Historic New England, hosted by their President / Chairman / CEO Vincent C., who requested a history talk by Arthur (that’s me!)

In two consecutive seatings, we were joined by a total of 15 guests from the company AVC, hosted by Bob G., owner of a memorable Nepalese scarf.

Dana N. (party of 2, table 2, served by A.) accentuated the following comment with jazz hands: “WONDERFUL! Always a treat!” Bravo to A., Chef G., Chef J., Chef T., R. for crushing it on expo, and the entire team!

Carmen C. (party of 3, tbl. 3, served by R.) celebrated their friend’s birthday, and left commenting: “DELICIOUS! It was fantastic, as always.” Bravo to R., Chefs, and team!

CF said that M. did a great job working with the banquets team for the first time; she took directions perfectly, and assisted with all steps of service; bravo to M.!

Friday: cloudy; high of 67F; 0% chance of rain. Saturday: rain; high of 59F; 90% chance of rain. Sunday: scattered showers; high of 60F; 40% chance of rain.
