ULC Logbook, Saturday, December 3rd, 2022:
Saturday lunch, we started with approx. 15 covers. Perhaps due in part to the rain, several lunch reservations moved to next weekend / the following. Two parties cancelled, for a total loss of 4 covers. We were joined by the following walk-in parties: 2 at 12:45PM; 1 at 1PM (at the bar); 2 at 2PM. We finished with 19 guests for the first re-launched Saturday lunch.
For lunch BA’s, we were joined by: Kevin L (party of 2, tbl. 13); Adil C (solo, tbl. 18).
Saturday dinner, we started with 168 covers. Six parties cancelled, for a total loss of 22 covers. We were joined by the following walk-in parties: 2 at 5PM; 2 at 5:05PM (drinks only, at the bar); 4 at 5:15PM (drinks only, at the bar); 2 at 7:45PM (desserts only); 2 at 8:50PM (apps and drinks only, at a table). We finished with 159 guests.
We had one order for takeout, for BA Mr. M, placed by web, and then added on to (when he arrived 10 minutes after having placed the web takeout order to check if it was ready yet!) in person.
For dinner BA’s, we were joined by: the E’s (party of 2, tbl. 113); William D (party of 2, tbl. 6); Greg R (party of 5, tbl. 111); Judith Y (party of 2, tbl. 15); Mark D (solo, at the bar); Dr. M G (party of 4, tbl. 112); Niko H (party of 6, tbl. 108); Rachel K, with with several big and tall folks, and a successful birthday surprise (party of 9, tbl. 5); Carl C, who requested to be seated in the Ballroom because he may be interested in a banquet with us (party of 3, tbl. 119); Mark V A (party of 6, tbl. 13); Amy F, married at the ULC in 2009, celebrating anniversary (party of 2, tbl. 14); Jeff M (party of 6, tbl. 30); Judith R (party of 3, tbl. 37); Mary Ann C (party of 2, tbl. 1).
In the Clubroom, we were joined by Michael C and family, celebrating their mother’s 90th birthday, with a RALC menu for 12 guests.
Lucas B (solo, tbl. 18, served by N) commented: “Delicious. DELICIOUS!” Bravo to N, CF, RT, Chef G., Chef J., Chef W., Chef T., and the entire team!
Susanne M (party of 4, tbl. 28, no relation to yours truly, served by JMM) commented: “We had such a wonderful time; we ALWAYS have such a wonderful time. This is a special place.” Bravo to JMM, J, and team!
M was tonight’s MVP, in my book at least, for her hard work as the solo busser holding down the floor (with a big assist from R) in the MDR: bravo!
Mostly sunny for Sunday and Monday, highs in the mid / upper forties, with Crazies in the forecast for Monday evening. On Tuesday, rainy but warmer. Have a great weekend!
