The Laminated Roger Sherman Collage — February 18, 2022

ULC Logbook, Friday, February 18th, 2022:

We started with approx. 110 guests when I arrived at 3PM. We were joined by several same-day reservations, including a party of 4 from a Yale society, and a party of 2 who were dining too late for a reservation at Cafe Routier. We finished with 124 covers.

For BA’s, we were joined by Andy M. (party of 8, tbl. 19); Susan R. (party of 2, tbl. 17); Mike B. (party of 2, tbl. 4); William R. (party of 4, tbl. 5); James M. (party of 2, tbl. 11); William M. (party of 2, tbl. 15); Priscilla D. (party of 2, tbl. 6); Dr. Lydia B. (party of 2, tbl. 13); Frank F. (party of 2, tbl. 2); Jose D. (party of 2, tbl. 17).

William R. seemed overjoyed by the laminated Roger Sherman collage I had made in honor of his birthday and featured prominently on his table.

There were no orders for takeout.

Two parties of 2 joined us for desserts only (not counted in cover total).

J. M. K. (party of 2, tbl. 6) was one of at least three parties who let us know they were visiting New Haven as tourists for the weekend. The K.’s commented how they greatly enjoyed celebrating a birthday with us tonight. It was an interesting pattern to have three similar guest-written notes in a single service: hopefully this indicates a rebound for local tourism which would benefit the restaurant. I give all out-of-towners recommendations for more Roger Sherman-related points of interest.

Weather was good to start, then started to be brick as the night went along… message for Arthur 😉.
